NovaWave, a Swiss developer of advanced power semiconductor solutions, today announced that it has selected DB HiTek, a Korean semiconductor foundry specializing in analog and power manufacturing, as its foundry for the fabrication of E-mode Gallium Nitride (GaN) power devices.
Under this engagement, DB HiTek will provide wafer manufacturing services leveraging its long track record in analog and power semiconductor manufacturing, utilizing established process platforms with an emphasis on stable process control, manufacturing scalability, and consistent fabrication quality.
NovaWave is targeting high-efficiency GaN power solutions intended to address evolving performance and energy-efficiency requirements across a range of end applications, including consumer electronics, industrial systems, and data center infrastructure.
Initial device samples manufactured at DB HiTek are expected in Q1 2026, with volume production planned later in 2026, enabling customers to rapidly evaluate and deploy next-generation GaN power solutions.
Enabling Highly Efficient Power Solutions with E-Mode GaN Technology
E-Mode GaN power devices represent an extremely efficient and scalable solution for a wide range of applications, spanning consumer electronics, industrial systems, and data center infrastructure. Compared to conventional silicon-based technologies, GaN devices enable higher switching frequencies, lower conduction and switching losses, increased power density, and improved thermal performance.
These advantages translate into smaller, more efficient, and more reliable power systems, supporting industry demands for reduced energy consumption, higher performance, and compact system integration. As global markets increasingly prioritize energy efficiency and performance, E-Mode GaN technology is becoming a key enabler for next-generation power architectures.
